Welcome to School for Life!

School for Life is an internationally sponsored project in Thailand that provides home and care for children who live in difficult situations. In the beginning the main target-group were Aids-orphans, but meanwhile many children with diverse other backgrounds came to live in School for Life: among them are children who lost their relatives in the Tsunami; children whose parents were killed or are missing, and children who escaped from situations of brutality and abuse. School for Life provides for their basic needs, offers psychosocial and medical care, and a new home, aims to make the best possible education available to them, and respects their right to a happy childhood.

School for Life is an officially recognized Social Welfare School, with a concept that has been described by the UNESCO as "…much needed world class innovative effort in the field of education" and as a "…new standard of educational excellence for the world community of the 21st century".

Ambassador

Kerstin Linnartz is the ambassador of School for Life. She is a popular German TV-Moderator and presently supports School for Life with public relations activities and fundraising.

Children's Calendar

The calendar 2012 features 'Ghost Stories and Rituals' narrated and put into scene by children and youth of the School for Life.

Publication

The ethnographic study 'Bridgekids' focusses children living in the border-space between Myanmar and Thailand.

Unique Trading Cooperation

The School for Life produces handmade accessories for the German fashion label Umiwi.
